Sickle Cell Rapid Test Cassette Whole Blood Test

Our Sickle Cell Rapid Test Cassette is a qualitative lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for point-of-care screening of sickle cell disorders. It detects hemoglobin A (HbA), hemoglobin S (HbS) and hemoglobin C (HbC) from human whole blood samples, helping medical staff quickly distinguish normal individuals, sickle cell carriers and sickle cell disease patients.

The test uses fingerstick capillary blood or venous whole blood. Results can be obtained within 5–10 minutes without large lab instruments. It is widely used for newborn screening, premarital screening, community field screening, clinic and hospital rapid testing. This product is for in vitro diagnostic use only, for professional use to aid presumptive diagnosis of sickle cell hemoglobinopathy.

This rapid test cassette is based on lateral flow immunochromatography technology. The nitrocellulose membrane is pre-coated with specific monoclonal antibodies for HbA, HbS, HbC and control line antibody. Colloidal gold conjugated monoclonal antibodies are stored on the conjugate pad.

When the processed whole blood sample is added to the sample well, hemoglobin variants bind to colloidal gold antibodies. The mixture migrates along the membrane. Corresponding hemoglobin will be captured at each test line and form visible colored bands. The control line verifies the test is valid.
