EDTA K₂ / EDTA K₃ Blood Collection Tubes
EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) K₂ and K₃ blood collection tubes are widely used for hematology and molecular diagnostics. The EDTA anticoagulant works by chelating calcium ions, effectively preventing blood coagulation and preserving cellular components without affecting cell morphology.
Purpose: Designed for the collection and preservation of whole blood for hematology tests, such as Complete Blood Count (CBC), blood film preparation, and molecular biology assays (including PCR).
Anticoagulant Options:
K₂EDTA: Dipotassium salt, spray-coated on the inner wall for uniform mixing, minimal dilution effect, and excellent preservation of blood cell morphology.
K₃EDTA: Tripotassium salt, liquid form, slightly dilutes the blood, suitable for certain automated analyzers.
Key Features:
Accurate anticoagulant dosage for optimal test results
Maintains stable blood cell morphology for up to 24 hours at room temperature
High-transparency medical-grade PET or glass tubes
Leak-proof, secure closure with color-coded caps (lavender/purple) for easy identification
Compatible with most automated hematology analyzers
